WHAT IS A CONSCIOUS LIFE?
A conscious life is a life in which a person commits in a caring and positive way to accepting, knowing, honouring and evolving their self physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Through the simple act of birth, each person steps into a conscious life, carrying within them the abilities and capacities for living consciously. How these capacities and abilities are developed through childhood to adulthood are known as life skills, a set of knowledge skills and dispositions unique to each person.
Your life skills are strongly driven by your personal beliefs and emotions. They are expressed in four key ways: your purpose in life, your passion, your choices, and your power.
Your purpose in life is your reason for living, the search for the meaning in being you and why you walk on the surface of our planet.
Your passion in life is your enthusiasm that excites and motivates what you do.
Your choices in life are your decisions you make about what to think, what to feel and how to act.
Your power in life is your personal power, the presence that pours from you when you are making strong healthy choices from a deep abiding sense of your unique purpose in life.
When any of these key ways of expressing yourself are not in alignment, or, simply put, they contradict one another, then states of disharmony arise, such as feeling stressed out, fearful, angry, depressed, resentful and disappointed.
So we end up acting out what others expect of us, rather than choosing to act from a secure and compassionate sense of our personal worth. To keep on acting in such a way can create patterns of behaviour that keep us locked in unhappy spaces.
The root cause of this disharmony is often buried in incidents that we have long dismissed from our waking memory but which can, from their hiding-place in our unconscious mind, sabotage our best-intended actions.
By reassessing your purpose, passion, choices and power. you can become aware of what drives you. Becoming self aware is a skill. Like any skill, self awareness requires practice to develop.
